WhatsApp update: Group admins can now delete messages for everyone.

The ability to erase messages from other group members has been added to WhatsApp's new group chat function.

With its most recent upgrade, WhatsApp has been hard at work enhancing its group chat features. This new addition is meant to assist group admin in better regulating chats, which can involve as many as 513 users.

Messages sent by group members can now be deleted if you are the group admin. This gives administrators the ability to regulate their private communities and groups by removing anything that is offensive or improper for all users. A message will be replaced when an administrator deletes it for everyone with:

“This message was deleted by admin, [admin name]”

Members of the group are informed in the thread that a specific group admin deleted the message when a message is deleted for everyone in the group.

Note:

1. You and the receivers must be using the newest version of WhatsApp for messages to be successfully erased for everyone.

2. Even if the message is erased from the WhatsApp chat, recipients who are using WhatsApp for iOS can still have the material you sent stored to their Photos.

3. Before it is erased or if deletion fails, recipients might view your communication.

4. After sending a message, you have approximately 2 days to ask for it to be deleted for everyone.

5. Messages sent by other group members cannot be deleted except by group administrators.

6. After someone else posts a message, group administrators have roughly two days to request to Delete for Everyone.

7. Members of the group will be able to see which admin made the decision to Delete for Everyone.

8. The deletion of messages by a group administrator is permanent and cannot be challenged.
